Hi! I’m Diana Carter, an advocate for civil rights, a former firefighter and EMT, and a single mom who raised my daughter here in Rutherford County. Like many families, I’ve balanced work, parenting, and the everyday challenges of making ends meet. Those experiences shaped how I see leadership — not as politics, but as service rooted in preparation, compassion, and practical solutions.

My background in emergency response taught me the value of staying calm under pressure, planning ahead, and putting people first. Whether responding to emergencies, working in advocacy, or helping small businesses grow through marketing (my 9-5), my focus has always been the same: solve real problems and take care of people.

I believe strong communities are built when neighbors look out for one another and every voice is heard. That means creating safe, inclusive spaces where everyone — regardless of background — feels respected, supported, and able to thrive.

As your county commissioner, my priorities center on affordability, preparedness, and sustainability. I’m committed to exploring innovative solutions to reduce grocery and housing costs, support local farmers, strengthen emergency readiness for severe weather, and ensure our county grows in a way that works for everyone — not just a few.
